In honor of tax day, when long lines at the post office are matched only by long faces of those paying in hundreds or even thousands of dollars, I offer this antidote to the blues. A friend sent it to me and I absolutely loved it. I hope you do, too.
I can’t embed the video, so you’ll have to click on the link to watch. It’s wonderful; you’ve probably already heard something about this. A 47 year old spinster from Scotland, Susan Boyle, who went on “Britain’s Got Talent” to sing. The audience and judges were rolling their eyes until she started singing.

And if you like that one, try this one. Rabbit and I just watched it and cannot stop smiling; it’s people in a central train station in Antwerp suddenly singing along to a recording of “Do Re Mi” from The Sound of Music.
The world can be sad and harsh and beat you down. Just remember, there’s still a lot of happiness out there.
This makes me happy.
Aren’t they both just delightful? I think I’ve watched the train station video 10 times this week – and it’s really helped. And Ms. Boyle, well, a horrible bout of insomnia last night led me to wandering the ‘Net around 2 a.m. and I stumbled across that video. I watched it once and sobbed. I watched it a second time and sobbed more. By the 5th round of watching and crying, I finally started feeling sleepy. :) I just adored everything about it.
Would you believe the train station one made me cry? Lordy, am I ever hormonal today.
I absolutely LOVE the group ‘Improv Everywhere’….and they are spreading around the world!! Thanks for the video. Gonna show it to my classes today. : )
Susan Boyle brought tears to my eyes.
Someone recently sent me the Susan Boyle video … brilliance. Absolute brilliance.
Couldn’t have come at a better time. My oldest son was lamenting how studying for his Global/Social Trends class in college was depressing. So much bad news in the world. Everyone killing everyone else. I’m sending this to him.
I totally want to be the guy in the video who started dancing first…..
I watched Susan Boyle about 5 times, and got teary every single time. I showed both of these to my kids this am, they loved them, especially the train station one. That was fantastic.
I love the Do Re Mi video. I would have loved to danced right along with them! That totally put a smile on my face. :)
I love both of these videos! Susan Boyle is amazing, and proof that awesome things often come in nontraditional packages!!
Do Re Mi is one of the songs that Lauren and I sing when we’re in the car, and seeing that video today totally made me cry! Probably because I haven’t seen her in two weeks and I’m just an HOUR away from getting a big hug from her!!!
Susan Boyle was great. I was touched by her energy and spirit. I wish her well.
