Shortest Haircut in Two Years
In news of pretty much no consequence, I went in to have my hair cut on Thursday and Annette took me at my word when I said to trim “a couple of inches” off. It’s been growing at the rate of an inch about every six weeks, so it will be easy to grow out. And by the way, it’s not really as blonde as it looks in the picture; the exposure on my phone camera makes it a little washed out looking.
I saw a pair of bumper nuts on a motorcycle this week. These had flashing lights inside. Just when I thought my despair for humanity could not be more intense.
PC found half of a squirrel in the yard while raking the other day. The tail, back legs, and lower torso. I have no idea how he was separated from his upper half, nor how long he’d been in the yard.
It was 64 degrees here on Thursday. On Friday? We got two inches of snow. You know it’s bad when Rabbit is tired of snow, because usually she just loves it. But this morning, she stared out of the window and sighed deeply, and told me “Mommy? I’m kind of tired of this weather.”
Last night, we rented and watched “The Princess and the Frog.” PC divided out regular and peanut M&Ms into three bowls, and we topped them off with popcorn. Rabbit got a can of ginger ale (she averages one or two cans of soda a month, as special treats, usually on movie night) and set it up on a TV tray with her popcorn next to the sofa. She curled up with her pillow and blanket next to Daddy, and chattered all through the opening previews and credits, and then sucked her thumb during the actual movie. It was a pretty cute movie, especially since I had read some indifferent reviews.
I’m currently (re)reading “Time and Again” by Jack Finney. Look it up, check it out. It was written in 1970, but it’s still an entertaining book.
Interesting article, I am now a subscriber!
I love your haircut! Got mine cut yesterday.
Half a squirrel? Oh, man. Ewwww.
I love the image of the three of you watching your movie …..
love your hair.
bumper nuts have been cropping up round these parts – they are so gross.
I love the new “short” do. And like Rabbit, even *I* have had enough snow this winter, though when asked, it’s the thing I say I miss the most about having moved down to New York. But mostly, I came here tonight to post this link for you, and hope you appreciate it as much as I did upon seeing it…

In particular, the fact it was designed to pull as a prank one someone with trucknuts makes it just perfect to me…
