Rather than talk about the election (I’m still formulating my thoughts) I wanted to post more photos of some of the school lunches I’ve been sending with Rabbit, and answer a couple of questions I’ve received from readers.
The lunch box and containers were a gift from a reader last spring, and can be found online at Easy Lunchboxes. You get a set of four of the divided plastic containers for a very reasonable price, and we also have a pink insulated carrier that perfectly fits her plastic lunch container, a drink, and ice pack and a napkin. In fact, we can stack two of the plastic containers in the carrier with a little extra room for a cold pack and have done that for a car trip before. Recently, I bought myself a carrier and occasionally take my lunch to work.
I got the little animal shaped picks on Amazon.com, as well as some food cutters I use for making star or flower shapes out of cheese or tortillas. Just today, I got (also from Amazon) a set of sandwich cutters in fun shapes called “Lunch Punch” and a set of tiny lidded containers to put inside the plastic lunch container, perfect for holding dip, or pudding or raisins. I’ve also been using silicone cupcake baking cups as food holders in the plastic lunch container.
Rabbit has taken hot lunch at school about four times so far and only once did she enjoy the meal (corn dogs). The rest of the time she finds it abhorrent.
Here are the remaining lunches I packed for the month of September.

Yum! But why is the giraffe so sad?
I know, right? My daughter doesn’t like me to put the giraffe in her lunch because it makes her feel bad.
Aw! So sweet.
Mary – can you just pack the lunches for my kids also?
