My car is experiencing technical difficulties that may or may not be a leak in the fuel line, so I can’t drive it except to the mechanic tomorrow so they can make sure it’s not going to blow up when I drive. As it is, when I start the car to warm it up in the morning, the smell inside is like crawling up into a molotov cocktail. So there’s that.
Today was, by necessity, a day spent at home. You know, because of the lack of transportation. I spent a good part of it doing some food prep for the week. I made Asian slaw (the kind with cabbage, almonds, ramen noodles, and other oh-so-good for you ingredient), cooked up a pot of brown rice to have on hand for recipes, baked kale chips for Rabbit’s lunches and snacks, and made a big batch of crispy southwest chicken wraps that were super easy and a pretty big hit with the family. Rabbit’s even taking one in her lunch for tomorrow.
After dinner, we stacked all the dirty dishes on the counter, in preparation for the maiden voyage of the soon to be installed dishwasher. That’s due to take place in less than 12 hours.
PC spent his day in the shop (garage) spraying lacquer onto some gong stands for a friend who sells gongs online. The smell of the lacquer is pretty strong – I’ll be glad when that project is finished.
This morning I had to show a house across town…before I knew I shouldn’t be driving my car in its present gasoline-redolent condition. On the way home from the showing, I was driving past Trader Joe’s so I stopped in for a few supplies and I believe that at $34 and change, this was quite possibly the least I’ve ever spent there. I got coffee, soy coffee creamer, half and half, Greek yogurt, baby spinach, frozen French green beans, string cheese, and a bottle of melatonin. So now we are offically set for the month of January as far as groceries go.
DID I MENTION MY NEW DISHWASHER GETS INSTALLED TOMORROW??????????????????
